NYREJ’s 35th Anniversary: John Finamore, EW Howell

John Finamore
Director of Business Development
EW Howell

When did you discover NYREJ, and what was your title and company name?

I can’t pinpoint the exact year. EW Howell has had a long-term relationship with NYREJ, and this was underway when I joined EW Howell Construction Group as director of business development.

Most memorable “15 minutes of fame” in NYREJ:

Our recent featured project exposé showcasing the redevelopment of the Huntington Shopping Center. This project boasts six buildings with 277,000 s/f of retail space on 21 acres, housing premier brands and creating a must-visit retail destination. Additionally, the previous feature on two constructed private schools, the new 30,000 s/f home for Harlem Academy at 655 St. Nicholas Ave. and the expansion of Village Community School at 272 W. 10th St.

Favorite NYREJ Spotlights:

The spotlights of our talented team members.

These include promotions of Rob Isbit, Tracey Hunter, Scott Lozier, the 2023 “Visionaries” piece on John Finamore, the “Women in Construction” 2023 pieces on Molly Morrissey and Lori Panessa, and the 2024 “Women in Construction” pieces on Kristen Banta and Francele Dorvilus.

How has NYREJ helped you, your firm, or your industry? NYREJ is a crucial resource for staying updated on current affairs in the real estate and A E & C community. As the director of business development at EW Howell, a leading construction manager and general contractor firm in the NY Metro region for 133 years, I know that staying informed about industry trends and a current “pulse” is essential to maintaining and increasing our market share.
