NYCREW expands membership with 4 new professionals
NYCREW approved the membership of four professionals at the May 7th meeting of the board of directors.
The new members are: Jennifer Carey, founder of JLC Environmental Consultants,N.Y.C. joining the communications committee; Michelle Greenberg, an associate at Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP, Garden City, joining the outreach committee; Karen Kozlowski, a partner at Thompson Hine LLP, N.Y.C., joining the membership committee; and Marisa Mohan, sales manager at the Rockefeller Group Business Centers, N.Y.C., joining the sponsorship committee.
"NYCREW's goal is to help women of achievement in our industry take their careers to even higher levels, and we welcome these outstanding professionals to our group," says Shari Linnick, 2013 NYCREW President and a Vice President at Trepp LLC. "And we also thank our Membership Committee chairpeople, Lucy Carter of Ted Moudis & Associates and Christine Chipurnoi of Wells Fargo Insurance Services, for their tireless efforts in reaching out to potential new members."
In addition, current member Crystal Denunzio, Vice President of Business Development at New York City-based Theodore Williams Construction Co., has joined the Membership Committee.
Membership in the organization is not a given. A professional must be employed in commercial real estate for at least five years, attend two open meetings within a 12-month period, and be sponsored by two NYCREW Network members, at least one of whom must be employed by a company other than the applicant's firm. The applicant must then be approved by the Board, Linnick adds.
"This rigorous qualification process allows us to ensure that our members truly meet and interact with peers both at our local level, and at the national level of Commercial Real Estate Women's Network," Linnick says. "This supports our vision of helping women do business together, and our newest members are outstanding in that regard."
