Jamie Smarr

Manhattan, NY Multifamily developers, affordable housing advocates, financial industry leaders, public officials and others committed to the mission of expanding access to affordable housing in New York, will gather at the NYC Housing Partnership’s gala luncheon on Wednesday, October 23rd. This event celebrates the 41st anniversary of the launch of the non-profit Housing Partnership and raises funds for its Homeownership Counseling and Education program for first time homebuyers.

“We are excited to have Charles Blow share his timely political and social insights and analysis at our 2024 luncheon weeks before the Presidential election,” said Jamie Smarr, president and CEO of the Housing Partnership.

The NYC Housing Partnership’s gala luncheon on Wednesday, October 23rd, will be held at Gotham Hall at 1365 Bdwy. at West 36th Street.

New York Times national columnist and author Charles Blow is the special guest speaker at the NYC Housing Partnership Luncheon. Blow is one of the Times’ most read writers, focusing on national politics, public opinion and social justice. His new book, “Fire Shut Up in My Bones,” a memoir, is a best seller.

“The NYC Housing Partnership is a national model of a successful public/private intermediary, having leveraged over $7.5 billion in public and private sector funds to stimulate construction and mortgage financing for workforce housing in the five boroughs,” said Smarr.

“We are proud to serve over four decades as part of the City’s affordable housing community. We look forward to joining with leaders committed to affordable housing including HPD commissioner Adolfo Carrion at our gala luncheon on October 23rd. This event brings together key participants in the affordable housing community to recognize their roles in expanding much needed quality affordable housing for New Yorkers,” said Smarr.
