Niagara Lutheran Health System expands with addition of $6.5 million GreenField Terrace

The Niagara Lutheran Health System has expanded The GreenFields Continuing Care Community on Broadway in the Lancaster. The groundbreaking took place on April 29. GreenField Terrace, a $6.5 million project, will offer household-style residences for seniors with memory impairment and those in need of a more enhanced assisted living level of care. This new addition to the GreenFields Continuing Care Community will round out the comprehensive living options for seniors already offered on the campus, including residential apartment homes at GreenField Manor, assisted living apartments at GreenField Court and skilled nursing, rehabilitation services, and outpatient therapy at GreenField Health & Rehabilitation Center. "We are so excited to offer this option to area seniors," said Jurgen Arndt, president and CEO of the Niagara Lutheran Health System. "Being able to provide all levels of care on one campus will be a great benefit for our residents, whose needs will be met without having to go elsewhere." GreenField Terrace will also admit residents from the Western New York community, answering an increased need for memory care and enhanced assisted living. In addition to offering a household-style environment, a person-centered approach to each resident's care will be the philosophy of the new facility. The project will include four L-shaped buildings, each consisting of 12 rooms, accommodating up to 14 residents, along with a common living room, kitchen and dining room. The four buildings will surround a fenced in courtyard, allowing residents to garden and enjoy the outdoors without risk of wandering. Construction is expected to be completed sometime after the first of the year.
