‘New York Building Congress Across New York State’ report highlights $221b in member projects across Empire State

Manhattan, NY The New York Building Congress released its ‘New York Building Congress Across New York State’ report, a snapshot of their members’ contribution to construction and development underway in New York State. The projects represent the work of the Building Congress’ more than 500 members, representing 250,000 skilled tradespeople and professionals statewide in 2024.

The report provides an overview of the projects that bring hundreds of thousands of building industry jobs and billions of dollars in project valuation statewide. Building Congress members are advancing more than 5,700 projects across the state valued at more than $221 billion.

“From our earliest days, the New York Building Congress’ members have a history of incredible impact across New York State, building the homes and institutions that drive local economics,” said Carlo Scissura, Esq., president and CEO of the New York Building Congress, “This report reflects the significant contribution of our members and their continued dedication to enhancing economic growth with projects that shape our region for generations. We’re proud of the industry’s ongoing contributions to the state’s success as we approach another year of opportunities and projects that will make New York stronger, fairer and more accessible to all.”

The report is a representative snapshot of construction projects across New York. The projects featured in the report encompass a diverse set of sectors, including infrastructure, housing, transportation, clean energy, healthcare facilities, educational and cultural institutions and more.

Among these projects, many are scheduled for completion in 2024, including the Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital J Wing/Southwest Tower, the United States Military Academy at West Point Cyber and Engineering Academic Center, Studio Museum of Harlem, Morris Ridge Solar Facility 175 MW and Discovery Park User Support Center PPP among others. These projects demonstrate the diversity of work from NYBC members, creating jobs in districts represented by every state-level official. The Building Congress aims to continue advocacy with state leaders to ensure crucial funding that supports ongoing growth and development of vital projects that invest in our infrastructure across the state.
