Muss Development LLC has continued its fast pace of retail activity by arranging two renewals with Rite Aid totaling 16,845 s/f. The drugstore chain has signed long-term agreements to remain in its existing spaces at Broadway Shopping Center in Astoria, and Jackson Heights Shopping Center in Jackson Heights - two of the developer's retail centers.
The Jackson Heights renewal is for 10,645 s/f, and 6,200 s/f at the Broadway Shopping Center location.
"Rite Aid is a great credit tenant, the perfect complement at each shopping center and well serves the diverse populations who live in these Queens neighborhoods," said Muss principal Jason Muss. "We are extremely happy to continue our relationship with Rite Aid."
Broadway Shopping Center -- which is 100% leased and anchored by Associated Supermarket - has a full roster of tenants including Rite Aid, Chase Bank, Petland Discounts, Subway, USPS, the independently owned Bel-Aire Diner, and the newly leased Radio Shack.
Known as "Astoria's First Complete Shopping Center," the 45,206 s/f retail center is located at Broadway and 21st St. on a main thoroughfare running through Astoria and Ditmars to the Queens Midtown Tunnel entrance in Hunters Point.
Muss' two-story, 130‚267 s/f Jackson Heights Shopping Center is the only large-scale shopping and office complex. Tenants include Rite Aid, Waldbaum's, Modell's, Carvel, Sovereign Bank, Pearle Vision, Radio Shack, Rainbow Shops, GameStop, the U.S. Post Office, Keller Williams Realty, Long Island Board of Realtors, and Dante Caterers.
