Montemagno named director of IT at Gettry Marcus

Woodbury, NY Steven Montemagno has joined Gettry Marcus CPA, P.C. as director of information technology.

Montemagno, a resident of Flushing, comes to the firm with 20 years of experience in information technology, most notably working in the professional services sector.  He has proven abilities with oversight which includes IT security, IT risk and compliance, network and system infrastructure, telecommunications, video conferencing systems and all remote access technologies.  

As director of IT, Montemagno will partner with the firm’s leadership in taking Gettry Marcus to the next level technologically.  He will manage the IT functions of the firm’s three offices. Montemagno is also charged with developing a more robust IT department as well as cloud based applications as the firm continues to grow.

Additionally, he will provide Gettry Marcus clients with IT Strategic Planning Services.

Prior to joining Gettry Marcus, Montemagno was IT Director at Satterlee Stephens Burke & Burke, a New York City law firm. He is a graduate St. John’s University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications as well as a Minor in Business Administration.

When Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) were first part of commercial real estate risk management, it was the lenders driving this requirement. When a borrower wanted a loan on a property, banks would utilize a list of “Approved Consultants” to order the report on both refinances and purchases.
