Midwood welcomes HSBC Bank branch to Carle Place development

Carle Place, NY According to Midwood Investment & Development, HSBC Bank USA, N.A., (HSBC), part of HSBC Group, has opened a new 2,436 s/f branch office at 857 East Gate Blvd. The new retail development is owned by Midwood. 

HSBC Bank, one of the first tenants to open in the development, which is across from The Galleria of Westbury Plaza, a 330,000 s/f retail center. A new 56,000 s/f flagship Whole Foods store is slated to open later in this year. 

“Given its proximity to other retail and commercial options, 857 East Gate Blvd. is an ideal location for HSBC,” said John Usdan, CEO of Midwood Investment & Development. “Located in one of the prime retail corridors, HSBC will have terrific visibility for its new banking facility.” 

“Opening this new location in Carle Place is an exciting moment for HSBC Bank,” said branch manager Steven Wagner. “We moved from an office building located on the outskirts of the trade area to a new redevelopment located in the heart of the vibrant retail center. We are proud of the opportunity to provide high quality banking services to individuals and business owners in this thriving community and its surrounding neighborhoods.”

The new and optimized branch includes modern design elements and technology that encourages meaningful customer engagements. It features flexible, open and collaborative spaces with ample room for meetings, a customer lounge and internet bar as well as digital signage and touchscreens. 

“Retail branches are important and will continue to maintain a prevalent role in acquiring, retaining and serving customers,” said Anthony Glover, EVP and Head of Retail Banking, HSBC US. “While our digital capabilities and self-service channels continue to grow and improve, our network of neighborhood branches still attracts and strengthens our relationship with new and existing customers in need of additional financial services.” 

Wagner said, “Long Island is important to us as. This is the second location this year that we have relocated on the island which shows our commitment to Carle Place and the surrounding communities.” 

The branch employs a variety of specialists, including personal bankers, relationship managers, wealth, business banking and mortgage bankers. Customers have access to a full suite of banking products, including personal and business loans, mortgage loans, credit cards and wealth management services. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday, Thursday’s from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday’s from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The location also has two ATMs in a secure area that will be available at all times.
