Metropolitan Realty Assocs. names Jaffe senior associate

Manhattan, NY Paul Jaffe joined Metropolitan Realty Associates (MRA), a privately held real estate investment and development firm, as senior associate. He assists in underwriting and structuring new acquisition opportunities, as well as asset management on behalf of the firm and its equity partners.

Jaffe’s real estate career began at Anchin, Block & Anchin, auditing private real estate companies and their underlying assets to prepare annual financial, current value, and operating escalation statements. He later served in a variety of positions in both advisory and private equity—focusing on equity investment management—as well as debt and mezzanine financing and investment sales, with companies including Townhouse Partners, Berkshire and Ackman-Ziff.

At Berkshire, Jaffe worked on acquisitions and portfolio management for a private equity fund vehicle focused on opportunistic real estate investment through entity-level and GP equity commitments to real estate operating companies exhibiting specialized asset class and market expertise.

“Paul’s well-rounded experience in several aspects of the real estate investment business makes him a great fit for MRA as we provide our investors with a very hands-on acquisition and management style,” said Joseph A. Farkas, CEO and founder of MRA.

Jaffe received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and continues to develop his real estate knowledge through coursework at NYU’s Schack Institute of Real Estate. Additionally, he is a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of New York.

As a long time lacrosse fan and current member of Harlem Lacrosse, Jaffe helps coach and tutor high school students at the Frederick Douglass Academy in Upper Manhattan.
