BMNAR

On the morning of September 20, 2018, congressman Adriano Espaillat joined Angel Vazquez, Esq., chief of staff and counsel for councilman Ritchie Torres, at the boardroom of The Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors (BMNAR). It was a special morning as the Board of Governors gathered to witness the swearing-in ceremony for BMNAR’s 2019 leadership team.

At 9:15 a.m., Vazquez kicked off the ceremony by reciting the Preamble to the Oath where he reminded the incoming officers they will be identified as the official representatives of BMNAR by the businessmen and women of their community and must therefore dedicate themselves to work for the welfare of their fellow realtors, community, state and nation.

It was an honor for me to introduce congressman Espaillat who then went on to administer the oath of office to: Vincent Buccieri, president-elect; Anita Gupta, treasurer; Maxine Mears-Clarke, secretary; Miriam Toro, VP Bronx residential; Marko Agbaba, VP Manhattan residential; Danielle Noak, VP owner management; and, James Coleman, VP commercial industrial.

Congressman Adriano Espaillatadministers the Oath of
Office to Ellen Feld, BMNAR’s 2019 president.

The congressman then asked Ellen Feld to raise her right hand and repeat after him. When it was over, congressman Adriano Espaillat recited, “I do hereby proclaim you, Ellen Feld, to be duly installed president of The Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors. Congratulations and best wishes.” After the thunderous applauses subsided, Christina Leigh-Stevens, the outgoing president, passed the gavel to BMNAR’s new president.

Feld has been a real estate broker since 1986 and a member of BMNAR since 1999.  With her gavel in hand, Feld was prepared and equipped to call to order her first meeting of Board of Governors. The 58th president to lead BMNAR addressed her board.  Feld thanked congressman Espaillat for the pleasure and privilege for administering her oath of office and she also thanked councilman Ritchie Torres for his involvement in the ceremony.  Feld went on to say that she reached this moment with pride and appreciation for all who have supported her.  She also thanked the members of the board and our outstanding staff headed by yours truly.

The new board president acknowledged the extraordinary contribution BMNAR makes to worthy causes in their community through its diverse fund-raising projects. They include Camp Good Days, Project Club Clemente, the YMCA, the Jewish Children’s Museum, The Bronx Historical Society, the Bronxchester Little League and Community Mainstreaming Associates.

Feld plans to continue supporting our valuable services to the real estate industry and the business community in The Bronx and throughout the New York metropolitan area. She plans to continue the development of BMNAR’s outreach program to expand the membership and, with BMNAR’s CEO, will establish a regular schedule for personal visits to brokerages in our borough.

Feld closed her remarks with, “I am committed to enhancing our visibility and presence in the community life of The Bronx with outreach to institutions and government offices that play a significant role in fostering the healthy growth of businesses, development and especially home ownership in The Bronx.”

This CEO is enthusiastic, and I am looking forward to working with madam president, Ellen Feld.

If you are a Realtor in Upper Manhattan or in The Bronx and are not a member of BMNAR, it’s time for you to come home and become a member of BMNAR. Remember, “There is no place like home.”

Eliezer Rodriguez, Esq. is the chief executive officer of The Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors, Bronx, N.Y.
