New York, NY According to Broadway Construction Group (BCG), Everard Martin has been named president. Martin will manage the entire organization, oversee all active construction projects and continue to expand the company’s client base.
Martin will streamline internal communications, while leading a strategic growth initiative that will include filling a number of newly established roles, including a director of marketing, director of business development, director of operations, safety director and director of risk management.
“It’s a true honor to be named president of BCG, and to be tasked with growing the company and enhancing the internal processes and safeguards we currently employ,” said Martin. “Our goal at BCG is to serve as more than a construction manager and general contractor, but as a true partner to our clients, and we’ve consistently demonstrated to our clients our unwavering commitment to helping them achieve their goals. As BCG continues its growth trajectory, I’m eager to work with the rest of our management team to ensure that we continue providing clients with a premier level of services, while maintaining our core commitment to safety across all our projects.”
Since joining Broadway Construction Group in 2015, Martin has been a valued member of the organization’s management team, overseeing some of the firm’s most significant and challenging projects for clients including RXR Realty and GFI Development Co. Martin brings to BCG more than 35 years of diversified industry experience managing projects ranging from major interior buildouts to the construction of high-end residential buildings and commercial, municipal and infrastructure developments. He specializes in critical advanced planning, managing difficult staging and logistics, fast-track master scheduling and operations maintenance.
Prior to joining BCG, Martin worked at Plaza Construction for 20 years, where he oversaw construction at marquee projects, including Morgan Stanley’s $500-million Purchase campus, JPMorgan’s Park Avenue headquarters, The Westport, a residential project, condominium projects including Chartwell House and 170 East End Avenue, and several others. Earlier in his career, he worked at the New York State Dormitory Authority, and George Fuller Construction.
“Everard’s wide-ranging experience within the construction industry gives him a unique insight into every project BCG undertakes, and his leadership and organizational skills are second to none,” said BCG’s COO and partner, Joe Aiello. “With Everard at the helm, BCG is well-positioned to expand its construction portfolio to include a greater number of Tri-State area projects across the residential, hospitality, commercial and public sectors.”
Founded in 2013, BCG quickly established itself as one of New York City’s most nimble and capable general contractors, with the ability to bring the city’s most visionary residential and hospitality projects to life from an ownership perspective. In January of 2017, the firm merged with Zephyr Construction Management, which was led by Aiello, further bolstering the construction expertise and experience of BCG’s executive team.
“When BCG merged with Zephyr, I was immediately impressed with their commitment to value engineering and the way they approached every stage of the construction process from an owner’s perspective,” said Martin. “Our expanded management team now rivals that of any construction firm in New York City, and the diverse backgrounds of our executives gives us the ability to handle even the most complex projects. I’m confident that our skilled professionals will continue to meet our clients’ needs, aiding in our expansion, and I’m very excited to lead BCG to continued success in the years ahead.”
BCG employs a wide range of professionals with extensive experience building various project types, including hospitality and residential projects, retail and commercial spaces, state and municipal buildings, historic renovations and interior build-outs. The firm has taken on the task of building some of the region’s most challenging projects while seamlessly coordinating construction activity with city agencies and organizations such as the Landmarks Commission and the Metropolitan Transit Authority.
Martin holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Keller School of Management / DeVry University, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management from Pratt Institute of Technology.
