Markel of Cresa arranges 5,835 s/f lease for Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP

Manhattan, NY Cresa Global Inc. vice president Nicholas Markel has arranged a lease for Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP at 70 East 55th St. The full-service law firm signed a 10-year, 10-month lease for 5,835 s/f, comprising the entire 19th floor of the 27-story, class-A office building, located between Madison and Park Aves.

“The firm wanted the benefits of a full-floor space in a centrally-located class A building,” said Markel. “We negotiated an excellent transaction for them, which included build-to-suit provisions that meet their requirements for space, amenities, and privacy.”

Representing building owner, Amtad LLC, was JLL’s Diana Biasotti, senior vice president/brokerage. Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone plans to relocate from its current offices at 460 Park Ave. in spring 2022.

According to Richard Selig, managing principal, Cresa, “The year 2021 ended on a positive note in representing this esteemed law firm and other businesses that continue to believe in the New York City and its future.”

Now in its 51st year, Meltzer, Lippe’s 70-plus attorneys represent businesses and individuals in multiple practices, including Real Estate Law, Business & Real Estate Taxation, Corporate, Labor & Employment, Commercial and Estate Litigation, Trusts & Estates, Construction, Environmental, Bankruptcy, and social media, Software & Privacy, among others. The preeminent law firm is headquartered in Mineola, NY, with additional offices in New York City and Boca Raton, FL.

“We were looking for a larger presence in Manhattan to better service our clients. The space at 70 East 55th St. accomplishes this purpose by providing us space in a class A building suitable to continue our growth of resident attorneys in our Manhattan office,” said David Heymann, Meltzer Lippe’s managing partner.
