Mineola, NY The Nassau County Industrial Development Agency appointed two new members to its board of directors. Marissa Brown and Joseph Manzella join the board, filling a vacant seat and replacing Victor LaGreca, who resigned from the board.

“We are excited to welcome Joseph Manzella and Marissa Brown to the Nassau County IDA board,” said William Rockensies, chairman of the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency. “Their diverse backgrounds and dedication to public service will greatly enhance our ability to support economic development initiatives and foster prosperity throughout the communities of Nassau County.”

Joseph Manzella, a retired detective from the New York City Police Department, brings extensive experience in law enforcement and labor representation to the IDA. During his tenure, he received accolades for his exemplary service, including the True American Hero Award for solving a triple homicide. Manzella also serves as a business representative for the Eastern States Joint Board AFL-CIO, fostering strong relationships between workers and employers.

Marissa Brown joins the IDA with a diverse background in government and community service as she currently serves as a regional coordinator for the New York state senate, covering senatorial districts from Long Beach to Locust Valley. As a former soldier and family readiness group leader at Fort Carson, CO, she facilitated support for soldiers and families, earning prestigious awards for her volunteerism. Brown’s passion for sports and community outreach, particularly in lacrosse, further enriches her commitment to inclusivity and community building.

With Manzella and Brown on board, the Nassau County IDA looks forward to continuing its mission of driving economic growth, supporting local businesses, and enhancing the quality of life for all residents.
