Magnusson Architecture and Planning names Alvarez as technical director

New York, NY Magnusson Architecture and Planning (MAP) appointed Fernando Alvarez as technical director.

At MAP, Alvarez will be involved in all phases of design and construction, with an emphasis on the quality assurance process and leadership in the delivery of high-quality projects as the firm takes on bigger and more advanced developments.

Alvarez has over 25 years of experience in a broad array of building typologies, with expertise in high rise residential and commercial design. His work covers buildings with a range of programming from luxury rental and condominiums to affordable housing to office.

His most recent projects include a 50-story rental building at the Hudson Yards, a 30-story luxury condominium development in Soho, a 350,000 s/f life science/class A office building in Harlem, a 974- unit rental tower in Court Square, and a 27-story luxury rental building in New Rochelle.

For over three decades, Magnusson Architecture and Planning (MAP) has worked with non-profit groups, municipalities, and for-profit developers to produce award-winning housing and neighborhood revitalization projects at the forefront of quality design and sustainability.
