The Long Island Real Estate Technology Forum, an organization of real estate industry focused business professionals, hosted its first event featuring two leading high tech security sector professionals.
The opening speaker was Sal Lifrieri, CEO and president of Protective Counter Measures and former director of security and intelligence operations for the New York City Office of Emergency Management.
The second presenter was David Antar, president of A+ Technology and Security Solutions, one of the largest providers of security technology and video monitoring services in the state.
These experts offered a presentation on the best practices in security planning and security technology for commercial buildings and facilities. This program was jointly hosted by Cresa Partners Long Island, a leading global real estate organization and Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., a preeminent law firm based in Uniondale, Long Island.
The event included a discussion of enhanced security for commercial buildings on Long Island, the changing nature of security threats, methods of detecting and managing critical incidents and threats, access controls and visitor management systems. Attendees were given a virtual tour of IPVideo's Global Fusion Security Monitoring command center.
"Security planning and risk evaluation are critical to the decision making process for commercial buildings on Long Island and across the nation. Presenting to groups like this allows me to educate professionals about effective security strategies and approaches," said Sal Lifrieri, CEO and president of Protective Counter Measures.
"Security and security technology are important topics that members of the real estate community need to better understand. The information we received and the demonstration video and telepresence robotic security technology that was showcased was very impressive," said Jonathan Rudes, senior vice president of Cresa Long Island.
"Technology is playing a greater role today in security and building management than ever before. We showed examples of the security and video technology that we have developed and deployed in commercial buildings, schools and government facilities. Unlike in the past, the technology we have created allows users to react immediately and effectively manage critical incidents," said David Antar.
This event marked the first in a series of programs which the Long Island Real Estate Technology Forum will regularly host. The Long Island Real Estate Technology Forum is a group of professionals who meet regularly to discuss new technologies and how it relates to the real estate industry.
