Brooklyn, NY Peter Levitan, senior managing director & principal, and Brendan Reichenbacher, associate of Lee & Associates NYC LLC (Lee NYC) have set yet another local record with a 10-year lease for Rituals at 117 North 6th St. Located on the northeast corner of Berry St., the space has 950 s/f at grade level, 1,000 s/f of basement space and 70 ft. of wraparound frontage. It will be the seventh unit in New York City for the British-based retail brand, which specializes in natural skincare and cosmetic products, candles, perfume and organic clothing.

“This lease is a testament to the ongoing dynamism of the Williamsburg submarket and interest from foreign companies,” said Levitan. “The store is on one of the most visible corners on one of the most trafficked shopping corridors in the neighborhood.”

The new store automatically benefits from its position along the bustling Berry St. retail corridor, adjacent to Toby’s Estate Coffee and Madewell. Other retailers on North 6th St. include Kit & Ace, Estee Lauder’s Le Labo, Sandro, Urban Outfitters’ Space 98, and Maje.

Said Reichenbacher, “Williamsburg has a demographic that embraces organic and natural product brands. With a built-in client base and international brand recognition, Rituals should do exceptionally well in this location.”

Rituals’ Williamsburg store is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2016. Levitan and Reichenbacher represented the owner. The tenant’s broker was Hank O’Donnell of Crown Retail Services.

Currently, Levitan is representing 40,000 s/f of available space on North 6th St., including the recent assemblage of 108-112 North 6th Street, encompassing 18,438 s/f of retail spanning three levels. The owner, Redsky Capital, will be renovating the three buildings for possession from early to late 2017, depending on the division of the space. Along with Levitan, the Lee NYC team responsible for the exclusive agency includes managing principal Peter Braus, managing director/principal Garry Steinberg, and managing director JP Sutro. The marketing of The Agency, which began in early June, has already generated interest from a mix of fashion, beauty and home goods brands.
