Lee & Associates NYC establishes capital advisory team

Manhattan, NY Lee & Associates NYC has established a new capital advisory group, appointing Dave Carswell as senior managing director and Ryan Fitzpatrick as senior associate.

Prior to Lee & Associates NYC, Carswell and Fitzpatrick held roles at Largo Capital, where Carswell served as a managing director focused on securing financing for CRE projects including acquisition and bridge loans, construction, and permanent capital across all asset classes. Fitzpatrick served as an analyst where he performed due diligence and underwriting for over $500 million in commercial real estate loans across an array of asset classes throughout the capital stack.

Carswell brings more than 12 years of experience in commercial real estate development and mortgage financing. Carswell has expertise in managing the full lifecycle of assets, from development through to asset management, with a particular focus on the outer boroughs, Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and Northern New Jersey.

Drawing from his experience as an analyst, Fitzpatrick brings a fresh and innovative perspective, having worked within Manhattan’s real estate market where he has honed the ability to cater to a diverse range of clients and real estate industry complexities.

“I am thrilled to have this opportunity to join Lee & Associates NYC,” said Carswell. “The reputation, relationships and reach of the New York office and the broad network of investment sales brokers was extremely attractive. On top of that, the dislocation of the banking sector and the ongoing reset of values is combining for big opportunity for our business.”

“We’re thrilled with the establishment of Lee & Associates NYC’s Capital Advisory group, led by Ryan and Dave, to provide debt and equity solutions as part of our wide range of in-house services,” said Peter Braus, president of Lee & Associates NYC, “Their combined expertise will be a great asset to our clients.”

Carswell earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Buffalo and an MBA from Medaille University. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the Young Men’s and Women’s Real Estate Association of NY, the Real Estate Board of NY, Long Island Real Estate Group and the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island. Fitzpatrick earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and real estate from the Martin J Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University.

Carswell and Fitzpatrick will work to deliver optimal debt and equity solutions for commercial real estate owners and developers in New York and nationally. They will also collaborate with many of the firm’s investment sales initiatives.
