L&L Holding names Tootell to lead leasing for its 8m s/f portfolio

New York, NY L&L Holding Company has appointed industry veteran Jonathan Tootell to head the firm’s portfolio-wide leasing efforts.  Tootell comes to L&L with two decades of experience in the New York commercial leasing markets spanning a variety of leading brokerage firms and project types.

As executive vice president of leasing, Tootell will oversee a portfolio stretching across eight-million-square-feet of space that L&L currently owns and operates in Manhattan. Tootell will manage leasing in a range of neighborhoods and office types – from L&L’s recently reinvented towers at 425 Park Ave. in the Plaza District and 390 Madison near Grand Central, to landmark trophy properties such as 195 Bdwy. in Lower Manhattan and 114 Fifth Ave.in the Flatiron District.

In addition to his focus on L&L’s diversified existing portfolio, Tootell will collaborate with L&L’s partners and in-place leasing teams for its two major ongoing mixed-use development projects – the transformation of the 1.3 million s/f Terminal Warehouse in West Chelsea into a wellness-focused, high performance workplace and retail destination; and The Wynwood Plaza, a one million s/f mixed-use campus under construction in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District, which will incorporate a 266,000 s/f, class AAA office tower.

Tootell began his career in the real estate industry in January 2005 as an analyst at Cushman & Wakefield, before transitioning into brokerage with a focus on agency leasing.  Tootell held a managing director title at Newmark and served as a partner at Transwestern.  In his most recent role, he managed a team of more than 20 professionals as the New York market lead at SquareFoot.

Tootell has played a pivotal role in a range of significant projects and transactions, including the repositioning of 229 West 43rd St. and 5 Bryant Park in collaboration with Blackstone/Equity Office, as well as representing Empire State Realty Trust’s landmark buildings, One Grand Central Place and the Empire State Building.  Additional prominent clients include AEW Capital Management, Macklowe Properties and SL Green Realty Corp.

Tootell earned a bachelor’s degree with a double major in real estate and marketing at the University of South Carolina, Columbia.  Tootell is involved in the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association of New York, serving as a board member for three years and as its chairman in 2015.
