Kaufman Dolowich adds professional liability partners Turner and Myers in N.Y.

Woodbury, NY Kaufman Dolowich has added professional liability partners Ryan Turner and Jason Myers. Turner joins the New York City office and Myers joins the firm’s Long Island headquarters.

“As we continue to grow our firm with highly regarded and influential practitioners in key  practice areas, Ryan and Jason are a welcome enhancement to our professional liability group,” said Brett Scher, co-chair of Kaufman Dolowich’s professional liability practice group. “Turner and Myers have been practicing for more than a decade in shared industry circles; we know them to be client-first practitioners and are confident that our firm and our clients will benefit greatly with them on our team.”

Myers has practiced in the area of insurance defense over the course of his 16-year career, concentrating in professional liability defense for more than a decade. He represents a range of professionals including lawyers, accountants, auditors, brokers, architects and engineers and defends clients in directors and officers’ matters, including but not limited to condominium and cooperative boards, unit owners and shareholders. Myers also handles a variety of commercial disputes, cybersecurity matters, property owners’ liability matters, and consumer protection claims including violations under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the Fair Debt Collections Protections Act (FDCPA).

Turner provides coverage analysis for insurance carriers and their insureds, risk retention groups, and captive insurers. He defends his clients in domestic and international risk management defense and coverage disputes within specialty lines for attorneys, accountants, architects and engineers, and a range of professionals. Turner is especially adept at navigating London-based insurance policies, knowledgeable in the unique risk and profitability considerations that accompany the underwriting of London-based policies and programs. He also monitors the coverage litigation and arbitration environments for London-based clients, throughout the U.S.

“Ryan is very well respected in the London market as a trusted advisor to insurance companies including Lloyd’s syndicates,” said Stefan Dandelles, chair of the fidelity & crime practice group. “His influence in this important sector will only strengthen and build upon our diverse and high-caliber client base there.”

Turner and Dandelles have a longstanding relationship based on shared London-focused interests.

Turner received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and his B.A., cum laude, from Boston College.

Myers received his J.D. from Cooley Law School and his B.S., cum laude, from the University at Albany, State University of New York.
