Karam of NYPD Conterterrorism keynotes April IREM luncheon

New York, NY Dr. Andrew Karam of the NYPD Counterterrorism was the keynote speaker at The Greater New York Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management’s (IREM) April luncheon at the Union League Club. Karam gave a talk titled “Radiological Terrorism: What’s the Impact on Property Management?” He spoke about the effect of RDD on structures and facilities; the health risks from the radioactivity & regulatory restrictions on contaminated properties, clean-up, and re-occupancy. 

Katherine Ciullo of Angelo, Gordon & Co., also received her Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from IREM at April’s luncheon. Paul Gottsegen, CPM, president of the chapter, had the honor of conducting the swearing in ceremony.

The chapter will hold the following upcoming events:

• Thursday, June 22nd: Rooftop Networking event at 230 FIFTH, 230 Fifth Ave. (corner of 27th St.) Join IREM for rooftop cocktails, appetizers, and stunning views! The event runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and is $60 per person. It is sponsored by Ashokan Water Services & National Maintenance Supply.

• Thursday, August 4th: The rivalry continues...The N.Y. Yankees vs. The N.Y. Mets. Whether you wear blue and white or blue and orange, join IREM at Yankee Stadium for an evening of fun, food and America’s favorite pastime. Tickets are $125 each and include an all-you-can-eat picnic dinner. The party begins when the gates open at 5:30 p.m. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are limited. First come, first served!
