JLL’s Shoener named 2016 most promising commercial salesperson by Real Estate Board of New York

Manhattan, NY JLL’s Hayley Shoener has been selected as the 2016 winner of the Real Estate Board of New York’s (REBNY) Most Promising Commercial Salesperson of the Year (Rookie) Award.

The annual honor was presented by the commercial brokerage board of directors at the March 15th REBNY members’ luncheon held at the New York Hilton Midtown, which featured an interview with Nadeem Meghji, senior managing director in the real estate group & head of real estate Americas at Blackstone, moderated by James Kuhn, president of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank.

For the first time this year, the award winner will be granted a one-year term on REBNY’s commercial brokerage board of directors. Shoener will also receive a one-year seat on REBNY’s board of governors and will become a lifetime member of REBNY’s circle of winners, which meets four times a year for a private dinner with top industry leaders.

The runners up for the 2016 Most Promising Commercial Salesperson of the Year Award were: Andrew Sasson of Eastern Consolidated, Christie Bennet of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, Christine Colley of Cushman & Wakefield, Emily Jones of CBRE, and Kyle DeBussey of Colliers International.

The Most Promising Commercial Salesperson of the Year (Rookie) Award recognizes current and potential professional achievement as well as high moral character and ethical professional behavior. Candidates for the award must: be current REBNY members with less than five years of industry experience, display leadership and team work qualities, and have made significant contributions to their firm’s success.

Award winner Hayley Shoener is an associate in JLL’s New York brokerage practice specializing in tenant representation and agency leasing. As an integral member of JLL’s hedge fund and boutique financial services group, she advises mature financial firms and partners with prime brokers to assist more nascent funds. Since joining JLL in 2013, Shoener has been instrumental in completing nearly one million square feet of transactions for notable clients including Saba Capital Management, Canyon Capital, Suffolk Capital Management, and Noble Capital. Her tenant representation work also spans a broad range of businesses including several of JLL’s largest corporate clients such as Discovery Communications, and State Street Bank. In addition to her tenant representation work, Shoener currently represents 3.4 million square feet of office space in Manhattan including The Agency leasing assignment for 437 Madison Avenue.
