JLL PDS completes upgrades to 40,000 s/f Burlington store

Amherst, NY JLL Project and Development Services (PDS) completed Urban Edge Properties’ multimillion-dollar renovation of a 40,000 s/f retail property. The site was a former Toys ‘R’ Us store that now houses Burlington, a national apparel and home product retailer.

“Our five-month management oversight enabled the tenant to move in on time as specified in their agreement with Urban Edge” said Joseph Denn, vice president and greater New York region market leader for JLL PDS. “We came aboard after both the design and contract document phases of the project had been completed and a general contractor had been selected. Repairs to the exterior masonry façade posed a significant challenge given the budget and tight schedule, but we were able to successfully accomplish both.”

Urban Edge Properties is a leading REIT that acquires, develops, owns, manages and improves shopping centers in and on the edge of urban communities.

JLL’s PDS division helps clients through all stages of realizing challenging capital projects, with an emphasis on managing scope, cost, schedule, and the mitigation of risk. JLL PDS first works with clients to define their project success criteria, then assembles the professional team required to deliver the project successfully to completion. JLL PDS has a diverse practice, accomplishing projects of all sizes, building types, and serving many different industries.

“The Urban Edge Amherst project is another example of our growing practice throughout Greater New York State” said Don Bucci, managing director of JLL PDS’s office which serves Greater New York and Connecticut. “We are currently providing project management and owner’s representation services on projects in Albany, Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, and Corning.”
