J.T. Magen to build out 1 Manhattan West interiors

Manhattan, NY General contractor J.T. Magen & Co. Inc. is contracted to build out half of the interior space in the new supertower 1 Manhattan West in the Hudson Yards district. J.T. Magen will complete 1.1 million s/f of interior space in the Brookfield Properties-owned building for three clients covering 35 of the 67 floors.

Law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom will occupy 640,000 s/f over 22 floors that will incorporate Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology. The NHL, a repeat client for J.T. Magen, plans headquarters occupying five floors and 175,000 s/f, plus a retail store in the shopping district. Accenture, a global professional services company, will occupy the eight top floors of 1 Manhattan West totaling 280,000 s/f, with an open floor plan, rumble rooms, mission suites, industry hives, interview studio, VR lab and innovation hubs.

The 67-floor building tops out at 995 ft. high and is one of the tallest structures in the city. 

With the 1 Manhattan West projects, J.T. Magen has over 5 million s/f under construction in New York City alone. The company has offices in Chicago and Los Angeles, as well as New York. J.T. Magen was the Engineering News-Record NY Contractor of the Year 2018.
