Izzo of Syska elected president of 7x24 Exchange International

New York, NY Cyrus Izzo, PE, co-president of Syska Hennessy, has been elected president of 7x24 Exchange International, a not-for-profit organization for professionals in the mission-critical industry.

Izzo, who first joined the 7x24 board in 2010, has focused on the mission-critical sector throughout his career. In 2005, he established Syska’s Critical Facilities practice, overseeing the design of systems for some of the world’s most important data centers and trading floors. Today, the firm is widely recognized as a leader in the field. Over the past 10 years, Engineering News-Record has ranked Syska among the top five firms in engineering design for data centers.

Bob Cassiliano, chairman and CEO of 7x24 Exchange, said Izzo “Has provided strategic direction and industry insights resulting in 7x24 Exchange maintaining its position as the leading knowledge exchange in the mission-critical industry. I look forward to Cyrus’s continued guidance as president to increase the impact of 7x24 Exchange on the industry.”

“As the need for data centers continues to grow, it’s essential for professionals to share best practices and collaborate on new advances in technologies,” said Izzo. “That is why 7x24 Exchange is so important. I welcome the opportunity to play a larger role in its leadership as the industry evolves.”

Izzo holds a BSEE from Manhattan College, and is a licensed professional engineer in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Michigan, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. He is a member of Syska’s board of directors, responsible for long-term growth and corporate governance of the privately held firm, which was founded in 1928. Additionally, he serves on the boards of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), New York Building Congress, 7×24 Exchange International and ACE Mentor Program of New York.
