IREM NYC’s ESG committee champions sustainability with Earth Day webinar on NYC Waste Management Reform

New York, NY In celebration of Earth Day, the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) NYC’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) committee is proud to host a complimentary webinar focused on the critical issue of New York City Commercial Waste Management Reform. This timely event underscores IREM NYC’s commitment to promoting sustainable practices and raising awareness about the importance of protecting our planet’s natural resources for future generations.

The webinar, presented in partnership with industry partner Premier Facility Management and EM NYC, will delve into the significance of effective waste management in NYC, the current challenges facing the city’s waste collection system, and the urgent need for reform. Topics to be discussed include:

• Significance of Waste Management: Understanding how effective waste management is crucial for public health, environmental sustainability, and urban livability in NYC.

• Current Challenges: Examining the detrimental impacts of existing waste collection practices, including excessive truck emissions, accidents, and worker safety concerns.

• Need for Reform: Exploring the essential steps required to streamline operations, reduce pollution, and enhance transparency in waste services.

“IREM NYC’s ESG Committee recognizes the pivotal role that the real estate industry plays in creating a sustainable future,” said Nicholas Stolatis, CPM, chair of the IREM NYC ESG committee. “This webinar is a testament to our dedication to educating our members and the wider community about pressing environmental issues and empowering them to be part of the solution.”

The webinar will take place on Tuesday, April 22nd, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This complimentary event is open to all who are interested in learning more about NYC’s waste management reform and contributing to a more sustainable city.
