IREM NYC celebrates fifth annual fundraiser this year benefitting two not-for-profit organizations

New Paltz, NY IREM NYC’s fifth annual Sporting Clays Fundraiser benefitting SHAREing & CAREing and GiGi’s Playhouse NYC is coming up on Friday, October 6th at Mid-Hudson Sporting Clays. The daylong event starts at 8:30 with a hot breakfast, followed by a full round of shooting. The day is capped off with a delicious barbecue lunch buffet and raffles. It’s a fun day, full of camaraderie, all while supporting two important charities.

SHAREing & CAREing is a grass roots organization in Astoria, NY founded in 1994 to address the needs of cancer patients and their families. They are the only not-for-profit that works with all members of the community — regardless of insurance status — to provide education and prevention, wellness, information on cancer treatments and address the practical needs of cancer patients, and provide ongoing support. All services are free of charge.

GiGi’s Playhouse NYC is the other, grass-roots not-for-profit we’re supporting. They opened in 2012 and provide a place to celebrate a Down syndrome diagnosis and gain the social and academic skills individuals with Down syndrome need in order to reach their potential and make a contribution to our great city. It’s the only community and education center of this kind. All our programs are designed to empower individuals with Down syndrome to be their own best advocates.
