Innovative Solutions relocates to Riverwood Tech Campus–19,000 s/f

Henrietta, NY According to governor Andrew Cuomo, Innovative Solutions has officially marked the company’s move to its new location. The software development company has relocated to a 19,000 s/f facility on East River Rd., repurposing a building at the former Eastman Kodak Marketing Education Center. The facility, now dubbed the Riverwood Tech Campus, is being developed to service the region’s developing collaborative technology companies’ industry. The state’s investment in the company complements “Finger Lakes Forward”—the region’s comprehensive strategy to revitalize communities and grow the economy.

“New York State and the Finger Lakes region in particular are home to some of the most talent-rich tech companies in the industry,” governor Cuomo said. “Supporting businesses like Innovative Solutions that invest in the area and support a 21st Century economy while creating good-paying jobs helps generate new opportunities and move the Finger Lakes forward.”

“The opening of Innovative Solutions in a repurposed building at the former Eastman Kodak Center is creating new ideas in old spaces,” said lieutenant governor Kathy Hochul. “With their expansion, the software company already hired 10 employees in Henrietta, some from the local talent pool at the Rochester Institute of Technology. This investment is growing the high-tech industry and creating new opportunities for residents, while continuing to move the economy of the Finger Lakes region forward.”

Innovative Solutions’ new space is home to a lab and a tech startup “launch-pad” that will aid the company in recruiting recent graduates from local universities in the Finger Lakes Region. The expansion will allow the company to create up to 15 new jobs. In fact, 10 new employees have been hired since the first of the year; four were recruited from the Rochester Institute of Technology. In addition, close to 70 jobs were also retained as a result of the move.

The new space also features: 30-foot ceilings; an amphitheater-style open-office concept; an Innovation Lab; gourmet kitchen for employee use; “think tank” rooms; support for up to 12 tech-focused startups co-inhabiting within the space; more than 30 miles of hiking and biking trails; a food truck pavilion; and views of the Genesee River. Supporting the growth of high-tech industries in the region is an integral part of the regionally designed Finger Lakes Forward economic development plan.

Empire State Development president, CEO and commissioner Howard Zemsky said, “Successful, growing companies like Innovation Solutions reinforce the Finger Lakes Region’s reputation as a national leader for high-tech innovation by generating high-quality jobs that build on the region’s momentum and drive the economy forward.”

Innovative Solutions CEO Justin Copie said, “Innovative is so fortunate to be in the right place at the right time and have the opportunity to take a piece of history and call it home. We honor the past, but recognize the future requires constant innovation and focus on people. We are extremely appreciative of the resources and focus from government entities such as NYS, Monroe County and the Town of Henrietta. Together we win, helping create the east coast Silicon Valley.”
