Syracuse, NY TJM Properties has expanded its growing hotel portfolio with the purchase of the Crowne Plaza, in Central New York. The 276-room hotel will retain the Crowne Plaza flag and continue to offer all the amenities and incentive programs of the Crowne Plaza brand.

The purchase is the latest expansion for the Florida-based company and its fourth hotel in the Northeast. TJM Properties currently owns The Claridge Hotel and Atlantic Club in Atlantic City, New Jersey and The Radisson Philadelphia Northeast.

“We are delighted to add the prestigious Crowne Plaza brand to our portfolio and look forward to being a part of the dynamic economic expansion of the Central New York region,” said Terence McCarthy, president of TJM Properties. He noted that the area’s growing technology sector and the research and scientific resources of Syracuse University were factors in the decision to invest in this market.

Located downtown, steps from Oncenter, the city’s main convention venue, the Crowne Plaza Syracuse is ideal for conference attendees and business travelers exploring opportunities at the area’s various corporate headquarters, Syracuse University and IT firms. Leisure travelers are drawn by the area’s exceptional sports and recreational opportunities, shopping and special events.

The city is one of Central New York’s most popular destinations for meetings and events. The Oncenter Convention Complex offers over 200,000 s/f space. Additional facilities including the Empire Expo Center and SRC Arena provide options for special events.

With 12,243 s/f of conference space, The Crowne Plaza Syracuse can host up to 250 guests at a variety of meetings and special events. The hotel offers all of Crowne Plaza’s noted conference services.

The economic and academic hub of Central New York, Syracuse is on the shore of Lake Onondaga, within 20 miles of the Finger Lakes region and 30 miles from Lake Ontario.

Centrally located in the heart of New York State, Syracuse is easily reached from virtually all Northeastern destinations via Interstates 81 and 90 and the New York State Thruway. Syracuse Hancock International Airport, the region’s largest, is just five miles from the city.

TJM Properties is a privately held Real Estate firm owned and operated by McCarthy of St. Petersburg, Florida. The company owns a growing number of hotels in Florida, Mississippi, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania under the Quality Inn, Baymont Inn, Howard Johnson, and Radisson flags.
