L&L Holding Co. to install solar window films at 600 Third Ave.
L&L Holding Co., the owner of 600 Third Ave., is undergoing a green initiative that involves the installation of solar window film on their 50-story building. There are 1,800 windows totaling 43,000 s/f.
This is being done to improve the energy efficiency of the building. Once completed in the first quarter of 2009, it will save a minimum of $30,000 annually. The solar film also improves the appearance of the building. The older film gave the building a checkerboard appearance since years ago different tints were randomly applied to the windows. The new film maximizes natural light and improves the view.
