Hyde appointed to director of college and university desgin at JCJ Arch.

JCJ Architecture has appointed 33-year veteran architect Douglas Hyde, AIA, to serve as director of college and university design, according to Peter Stevens, president. Hyde also is assisting in the development of the firm's new Boston office. A leading authority on student housing, science facilities and academic buildings, Hyde joins JCJ Architecture from Einhorn Yaffe Prescott, P.C., where he was a principal-in-charge and project director. He has participated in more than 40 college and university projects across the United States. "The depth of talent, experience and achievement in campus design that Douglas brings to our firm makes him an especially welcome addition to our Boston office, which serves a region containing so many of the nation's most distinguished centers of higher learning," said Stevens. "We look forward to a long and successful association with him." Hyde's project portfolio includes major facilities for Michigan State University, Virginia Tech, Fordham University, and the University of Iowa. In Massachusetts, he has designed facilities for Mount Holyoke College, St. Joseph's College of Maine, and Middlebury College in Middlebury. He is a registered architect in Massachusetts. Born in Missoula, Montana, Hyde attended Montana State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in architecture and art and from which he'll be receiving his masters of architecture degree this year.
