Hundreds enjoyed 29th annual holiday party at Marina del Rey Caterers

The 29th annual holiday party was held at the Marina del Rey Caterers. "Hundreds of members, friends and real estate professionals from throughout the New York metropolitan area attended the popular event to renew old friendships, establish new business contacts or just have a good time," said Barbara Ann Benson, holiday party chairperson. "Network for success best describes this professional trade association and that slogan is reinforced with each successful event," said Eliezer Rodriguez, Esq., association executive officer. "Reservations included 4.5 hours of unlimited premium buffet, drinks, music and networking at a reasonable price which is a major attraction," said Richard Guarino, 2013-2014 president.

Of the many that attended the holiday party, some came with an unwrapped toy while others donated money to our annual Holiday Toy Drive. The evening was full of laughter, networking, an endless stream of delicious food and to burn away calories, first class entertainment kept the crowd dancing with an amazing assortment of music. A crowd from Langsam Property Services was the last to leave. The toy drive was a success and that made David Miller, Toy Drive sponsor, and Kathy Zamechansky, 2013-2014 president-elect, KZA Realty Group, Inc., very happy.
Zamechansky said, "This year we have been using the phrase 'There is no place like home' to recruit new members. So, we decided that our toy drive will benefit families in need that make The Bronx their home." Last year, Zamechansky suggested that BMNAR should work with the Bronx YMCA to identify families in Staten Island and the Bronx that were affected by Super Storm Sandy. Rodriguez took Zamechansky's idea a step further by delivering the gifts to the homes of the selected families. Mark Engel, BMNAR's past president and president of Langsam Property Services, gave the toy distribution the name of "Operation Kathy's Kids."
A few days after the holiday party, Shimon Shkury, Massey Knakal Realty of the Bronx, LLC, donated $600 to the toy drive. With his donation and the other gifts received, on December 25th, "Operation Kathy's Kids" delivered gifts to 15 families in The Bronx. Bronx News 12 did a magnificent job covering the story.
BMNAR thanks their members for making the holiday party a successful event. Their membership includes: licensed real estate brokers and agents; multi-dwelling property owners; building service vendors and suppliers; unlicensed property managers; attorneys; appraisers; banks; mortgage companies; fuel service and energy companies; title and abstract companies; insurance companies and insurance brokers; contractors and other companies servicing the real estate industry. Companies wanting to become members do not need an office in Manhattan or the Bronx to be active members of the association.
