Harwood appointed executive VP of New York Commercial Real Estate

New York Commercial Real Estate (NYCRE) has appointed Robert Harwood as executive VP. He is a NYS licensed real estate broker and a CPA. He will lend his 30 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate transactions to facilitate investment sales, leases and the firm's provision of real estate advisory services. He has been a trusted real estate consultant to countless real estate companies and investors in a range of areas, from purchasing investment properties and structuring partnerships and other ownership entities, to negotiating with lending institutions for acquisitions, construction and long-term financing. He also has guided investors on complex tax issues affecting real estate acquisitions and dispositions including 1031 tax-free exchanges. NYCRE president Jack Jawdat, said, "We are very proud to welcome Bob Harwood to our executive team. Bob is a consummate professional with in-depth knowledge and experience in all aspects of real estate. Directly prior to joining New York Commercial Real Estate, Harwood served as senior vice president/treasurer for Cohen Brothers Realty Corp. a private real estate development and management firm. In this role, Harwood managed all general accounting and financial operations for the company's portfolio of over 7 million s/f of commercial office buildings in New York, California, Florida and Texas. In addition to his position at Cohen Brothers, Harwood was the vice president-finance for Solow Realty & Development Co., managing all aspects of the company's financial operations relating to its 4 million s/f of commercial office buildings and 3,000 high-end rental units in Manhattan. Additionally, he managed the financial operations of the company's oil and gas businesses. Harwood's professional career also encompassed his roles as: CFO with CLK/HP; COO at Prudential CRES Commercial Real Estate/Soundview Realty Group; COO at Century Operating Corp.; vice president & CFO at Grayside Realty Group; and vice president at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette - DLJ Real Estate, Inc. Harwood earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Controllership & Finance from New York Institute of Technology from which he graduated with distinction. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baruch College-City University of New York.
