Harte joins CBRE Group as N.Y. Tri-State region director of location incentives

CBRE Group, Inc. revealed that Susan Harte has joined the firm's Economic Incentives Group (EIG) in Midtown Manhattan as Director of Location Incentives for the New York Tri-State Region. Ms. Harte's role will cover New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Harte has represented corporations, private real estate developers and public agencies in a wide range of transactions in U.S. and international markets. Notable clients she has worked with include Dow Chemical, Lehman Brothers, Maytag, Bed Bath & Beyond and Amerigroup. Prior to joining CBRE, Harte was the regional director of the location incentives practice at Jones Lang LaSalle, where she was responsible for structuring, negotiating and implementing economic development strategies and benefits for complex multi-jurisdictional projects. Before working at JLL, Harte was of counsel at the law firm of Stadtmauer Bailkin. Prior to that, she was the director of the national incentives practice at the accounting firm Grant Thornton LLP. Ms. Harte has also worked in the public sector as Director of Industry Development for Empire State Development, New York's chief economic development agency. "We are confident that Susan will be a valuable addition to our firm, as her proven location incentives expertise allows us to greatly expand our location incentives services in the Tri-State area," said Matthew Van Buren, president, New York Tri-State Region, CBRE. Harte received a Juris Doctorate from the George Mason University School of Law and Economics and a bachelor's degree from the University of Richmond. She also has a Masters Certificate in Corporate Real Estate from CoreNet. She is a member of the New York and Virginia State Bars and is a past president of the Foreign Lawyers' Bar Association in Tokyo. Harte was the founding chairman of City Harvest's "Square Feet to Square Meals" fundraising Campaign, for which she received the 2005 "Heart of the City" award. She is on the Board of Trustees of a 125-year- old 501c(3), Trailblazers.
