"We have been growing our architecture practice in recent years, and there is no one better than Ted to help take us to the next level" said Anthony Schirripa, FAIA, Mancini·Duffy / TSC's chairman. He has the reputation, credentials, and experience not only in leading projects and delivering exceptional service to clients, but in building a practice and mentoring the next generation of professionals. When I learned that Ted was leaving HLW, I knew we had a tremendous and timely opportunity to bring him on board."
For his part, Hammer notes that, having led HLW to a position of prominence, he was confident that it would continue to thrive in his absence. Hammer, who first joined HLW as a college intern commented "I felt in many ways that my tenure at the firm had come full circle, that the next generation of management was in place, and I wanted a new challenge and a new opportunity," he said.
Hammer said, "Mancini*Duffy / TSC has a creative culture, an extraordinary body of work, and they are fully committed to producing excellent architecture. When Tony approached me, I saw that this was exactly the right fit. I have the background they want for their architecture practice, and they have given me that challenge I was hoping to find." Hammer said, too, that he has great admiration for Schirripa and Dina Frank, the firm's resident. "We will make a great partnership team."
Hammer is known and respected for his client-centered approach, outstanding design, and a sophisticated understanding of technological innovation. His projects have been recognized with numerous prestigious design awards and with articles in major professional and business publications. He holds a B.S. in Architecture, with honors, from the University of Cincinnati's School of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning, and also studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Fontainebleau, France.
Hammer sits on the boards of The Historic House Trust of New York City and The National Theater Workshop for the Handicapped. He is also a founding director of the Real Estate Division of the Diabetes Research Institute.
