Robert Gorzelany, Venable

NEW YORK, NY According to Venable LLP, Robert Gorzelany has joined the firm’s real estate practice as counsel in the New York office. Gorzelany, who focuses on commercial leasing, represents both landlords and tenants, in New York City and nationally.

His representations regularly include, in addition to owners/operators on the landlord side, financial service, hedge fund, retail, media, healthcare/medical, sports, fashion, and publishing industry companies on the tenant side. In addition, he advises clients in joint ventures, acquisition/dispositions (including office, industrial, multifamily, and retail properties), and finance and construction matters.

“Robert joins one of the most comprehensive real estate practices in the U.S., where his commercial leasing experience will help with the growing needs of our client base,” said Peter G. Koffler, chair of Venable’s New York Real Estate Practice and vice-chair of the National Real Estate Practice.

Matthew McLaughlin, partner-in-charge of the firm’s New York office, said, “Robert’s arrival follows on the heels of hiring Eric Prager, Bill Haddad, and William Wagner, who are now partners in our New York office. These additions enable us to further bolster our capabilities in our New York office by strengthening our core practices.”

Commenting on his move to Venable, Gorzelany said, “Venable has a highly-regarded real estate practice, and I’m excited to be joining the Venable team.”

Gorzelany received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1997 and his B.A. in English Literature from Williams College in 1992.

At Venable, Gorzelany joins a real estate group representing real estate investors, developers, landowners, and public agencies in the legislative, administrative, and regulatory aspects of complex zoning. Chambers USA, Legal 500, and U.S. News-Best Lawyers "Best Law Firms" have consistently recognized the group among the top practices, both regionally and nationally.
