GIANCO Environmental Services, located in Brentwood, New York, is a diversified facilities management firm specializing in environmental, recycling, restoration, and facilities management services. Founded in 1986, and led by president Anne Gianchetta, GIANCO is a WBENC certified woman-owned business, a National U.S. Green Building Council member, a finalist for the past two consecutive years for the Environmental Awareness Award of the Greater New York chapter of IFMA, and an approved service provider in the Coldwell Banker Concierge Program. GIANCO offers an array of services to the industrial, commercial, and residential communities. Vice president, Michael Gianchetta, is an executive board member of the Long Island chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. He is also an active, participating member of IFMA, HIA, and WBENC as well as other business organizations and is a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxillary. With over twenty years of environmental and recycling experience, Michael holds many relevant certifications some of which include 40 Hour HAZWOPER, FEMA Incident Command, Confined Space Awareness, Blood Borne Pathogen Awareness, Asbestos Training and is recognized as an expert in his field. Michael, his brother Mark who oversees the operations, and father Mike Sr., along with Anne, all enjoy working together on a daily basis.
GIANCO is well respected and uniquely positioned and provides specialty services including hazardous, non hazardous, and universal waste disposal, asbestos abatement, mold remediation, fire/water/smoke restoration, and green building initiatives and products to name but a few.
With the addition of expert 24-hour emergency environmental and restoration services to complement its corporate, municipal, and private sector capabilities, GIANCO's prompt, professional, personal service exemplifies its ever expanding high profile client base. With clients' increased environmental awareness, sustainable responsibility and stewardship commitments growing, GIANCO envisions continued growth and expansion into markets that were not previously served, or simply didn't even exist, a few years ago.
As a leader in the environmental community, GIANCO welcomes the current challenges, both the economy and the environment face. Dedicated to its clients, GIANCO is proud to be at the forefront of sustainable practices and products. Stretch wrap and electronics recycling are two simple, yet very different and important examples of excellent ways to conserve valuable natural resources, save landfill space, and reduce the amount of toxins entering the waste stream. There are a number of recycling and service capabilities GIANCO provides. Each program is tailored to meet the specific needs of the client, the type of material(s) generated and if and when necessary, a solution to the ever more important protection of sensitive information found in documents, computers, and other hand held devices and the level of information protection required. With any e-waste disposal need not designated for a 100% destruction-first program such as one of the many programs GIANCO can provide, it is recommended all data from a computer hard drive be removed before recycling a computer or other storage devices. All media should be wiped clean. For extremely sensitive or any confidential information unable to be removed before recycling of the equipment, GIANCO can provide a program that will ensure the highest level of complete destruction and proper handling of this sensitive information and equipment. This true end of life destruction program guarantees all electronic equipment is triaged and shredded before any recycling occurs. With a zero landfill policy and all shredded materials including plastic, glass, ferrous and non ferrous metals recycled into new products, this total destruction program provides the highest level of security, a certificate of destruction and an environmentally friendly disposal of all electronic equipment, media, and documents.
In addition to the complete spectrum of facility management services and products GIANCO provides, this year has been very exciting as GIANCO has recently introduced two unique, environmentally friendly products:
The Green Machine is an organic waste-to-water, in-kitchen solution to the disposal of "wet waste" (food waste). Through a groundbreaking, green degrading process that completely reduces organic food to water, the Green Machine waste-to-water technology is helping restaurants, catering services, supermarkets, bakeries, hospitals, schools, and other public institutions and commercial food-based operations significantly reduce costs, eliminate trash-related odors, and protect the environment. Its latest installation, nicknamed "Bubba," at Pier Sixty Event Center at Chelsea Piers, New York City decreased the amount of food waste (wet waste) by 28% in the first month and by 41% the following month as compared to the previous year.
The Grid is a patented, innovative, permeable, sustainably-designed sub-base system made from 100% recycled plastic for the paving industry as well as other potential applications such as green roofs and attic flooring. In addition to all the sustainable attributes of this unique green product, the significant benefits are recognized on the job site in savings in labor time and material costs. The Grid also provides contractors and do-it-yourselfers the ability to complete multiple projects in less time. Product samples are available, and installation demonstrations can be scheduled upon request.
Each of these products, among many other of GIANCO's product lines and services have, and or can, help meet or exceed U.S. Green Building Council's LEED requirements for products from recycled content to waste management solutions.
This family owned and operated company with expertise and professional services and unique products works closely with its existing clients and looks forward to working closely with new ones. For more information visit www.GIANCO.com.
