GFP Real Estate signs two leases at 630 Ninth Ave

Manhattan, NY GFP Real Estate, LLC has signed two leases at 630 Ninth Ave., also known as The Film Center Building, totaling 3,629 s/f.

In the first transaction, Aged in Wood Productions, a theatrical production company that has produced Broadway hits such as In The Heights and Avenue Q, among others, signed a new five-year lease for 2,429 s/f of general and executive office space on the 3rd floor. 

Matthew Mandell of GFP Real Estate represented the landlord, GFP Real Estate, in the transaction; Jacob Rosenthal of CBRE represented the tenant. Aged in Wood is expected to move in this Spring.

In the second transaction, the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA), a membership network of more than 500 leaders in the performing arts across 60 countries whose goal is to, “is to strengthen the performing arts globally through the advancement of leadership, the exchange of ideas, and by fostering a diverse and engaged membership,” signed a five-year lease renewal and extension for its 1,200 s/f office space on the 2nd floor.

Mandell represented the landlord, GFP Real Estate, in the transaction; Jacob Wolkenfeld of Norman Bobrow & Co., Inc. represented the tenant.

Built in 1929 by architect Ely Khan, 630 Ninth Ave. is a 13-story office building comprising more than 275,000 s/f. The newly renovated building once only catered to businesses involved in theater, film and music and is in Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. The location provides access to many dining options and transportation services, including the Port Authority Bus Terminal, The NY Waterway Ferry, the Lincoln Tunnel, and multiple subway lines.
