Gelber and Kaplan of CBRE secure 5,400 s/f retail lease

Manhattan, NY In a transaction arranged by CBRE, vintage second-hand clothing store 2nd Street USA has inked a new 5,400 s/f lease in the Chelsea neighborhood at 142 West 26th St. 2nd Street USA will occupy 3,700 s/f on the ground floor and 1,700 s/f of basement space for a 10 ½ year term.

CBRE’s Eric Gelber and Jordan Kaplan represented the landlord, 142 West 26th Street Corp., in the negotiations. 2nd Street USA was represented by Andrew Connolly and Jake Siegel of Newmark Knight Frank.

“We are thrilled to welcome 2nd Street USA to Chelsea at 142 West 26th St.,” said Kaplan. “The landlord and tenant were deeply committed to finalizing the transaction despite obstacles brought on by the pandemic. With a portfolio of over 500 successful stores in Japan, we anticipate that 2nd Street USA will thrive in their newest New York City location.”

Located between Sixth and Seventh Aves., 142 West 26th St. is a residential building with ground floor retail. The showroom quality space features high ceilings up to 16 ft., minimal columns, existing HVAC and ADA bathrooms and rear skylights on both the ground floor and lower levels.
