Garfunkel of SDI honored by IAHD

The Institutes of Applied Human Dynamics (IAHD), which offers lifelong services for people with severe and profound multiple disabilities, honored Service Directions Inc. (SDI) for the company's commitment to corporate social responsibility. The award was presented to SDI president and CEO Ron Garfunkel at IAHD's 20th Annual Corporate Recognition Awards Breakfast on October 31, at the Westchester Marriott. Service Directions, a leader in the installation and service of on-premises laundry rooms in the tri-state region, first became involved with IAHD when they provided commercial laundry equipment for some of their community residences. "Each year we honor organizations and individuals who give much of their lives for the benefit of others," said Stanley Silverstein, executive director of IAHD. "Under the leadership of Ron Garfunkel, Service Directions actively supports many not-for-profit organizations with which it does business. SDI also employs individuals with special needs and continually works to create projects for them within their organization. Their tireless energy on behalf of IAHD and all people with special needs reaffirms our mission to support people of all ages with developmental disabilities."
