Galo of RTL leases 2,482 s/f to FER at Tishman Speyer’s Jackson Park

Queens, NY RTL represented restaurant FER in securing its third location in Long Island City. Located in Tishman Speyer’s Jackson Park at 28-10 Jackson Ave., the fast-growing restaurant group offers diners noodle dishes and other authentic tastes of southwest China. The restaurant also operates at 41-10 29th St. and 43-18 Crescent St., both in Long Island City.

Thomas Galo, EVP and partner at RTL represented FER in the 15-year, 2,482 s/f lease negotiations. Tishman Speyer was represented in-house by Reed Zukerman.

“FER was born out of our desire to serve New York City’s growing communities of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, connecting people with intricately made dishes,” said Nigel Huang, owner and founder of FER. “Long Island City has embraced us with open arms since we opened our first location, and we look forward to introducing our comforting and delicious cuisine to even more people very soon.”

“I’ve now had the privilege of working with the FER team on two properties and I could not be more thrilled for their continued growth and success,” Galo said. “Long Island City is a vibrant neighborhood and FER only adds to that rich community fabric. With deep experience in the LIC market, I was confident I could find them the best space to fuel their momentum and bring their dishes to even more people.”

Known for its hot and cold noodle dishes, fried rice, and wontons, FER’s dishes are rooted in secret family recipes created with hometown nostalgia. The restaurant’s expansion comes as Long Island City continues its strong growth trajectory – witnessing 78 percent population growth over the past 10 – showcasing the increased demand for new, local dining options.

Jackson Park, which was developed by Tishman Speyer and completed in 2019, features 1,871 luxury apartments in three glass towers, a five-story, 50,000 s/f clubhouse and a private 1.5-acre park. The development, which incorporates 120,000 s/f of indoor and outdoor amenities, is 100% leased. The building offers Sweetleaf Coffee Roasters, Dozo Dog, and Serafina. Jackson Park is situated across the street from the JACX, Tishman Speyer’s 1.2 million s/f office tower, which features JACX&CO food hall at street level.
