What was your most notable project, deal, transaction or personal achievement in 2014?
The Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency's most notable project involved benefits for Wincoram Commons, a mixed-use development in Coram. Benefits, including a property tax abatement, sales-tax exemption and mortgage recording tax exemption, were conferred on the three-phase project. Rochester-based Conifer Realty and the nonprofit Community Development Corp. of Long Island are redeveloping a former UA movie theater in Coram into a pedestrian-friendly complex of 176 workforce rental units, 22,600 s/f of retail/commercial space, and a public plaza. The $55 million project on 17.5 acres will create approximately 200 jobs and total over 205,000 s/f of mixed use.
