Bronx, NY Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet has signed a lease for 10,000 s/f at Concourse Plaza, adding a dining option to one of the busiest areas in the borough, according to The Feil Org., the center's owner and manager.
The restaurant will occupy ground floor space above the 10-plex National Amusements theatre, which is located on the center's lower level. Terms were not disclosed for the 10-year lease. Feil expects the tenant to move into the space in July.
“With the limited number of fast casual restaurants in the area, this space was perfect for the large lunch crowd coming from the Bronx County Court House as well as evening diners coming in to shop at Concourse Plaza and visit the movie theater,†said Nicholas Forelli, director of leasing for Feil. “There is nothing better than shopping, dinner and a movie right in the same complex.â€
Forelli represented Feil in the transaction, while Igal Nassim of Mason Asset Management represented the tenant.
Over the past year, Feil completed an $18 million renovation of Concourse Plaza, which included a renovation of the Food Bazaar supermarket anchor, one of the largest grocery stores in the Bronx.
A complete repositioning of the center, including a façade renovation and retenanting with prominent retailers including Modell's, Kidstown, and Rainbow Stores, facilitated the lease. Other tenants include CVS Pharmacy, Payless ShoeSource, and Bank of America. The Hibachi Grill lease brings the center to 98% occupancy with only two small shop spaces of 2,620 s/f still available.
Serving a population of over 1.2 million consumers within a 3-mile radius, Concourse Plaza is one of the premier shopping destinations in the borough, adjacent to a 1,883-unit residential housing community and Bronx Municipal Building. Located at East 161st street and Grand Concourse (the major north-south thoroughfare connecting the Bronx with Manhattan), the 311,650 square foot Concourse Plaza is also walking distance from Yankee Stadium.
Built in 1990, the center can be accessed by the 4, B, and D subway lines and the Bx6, Bx1, Bx2, BxM4, and Bx32 bus lines. The center is accessible from Interstates 87 (Major Deegan Expressway), 287 (Bruckner Expressway), and 95 (New England Thruway). It boasts surface parking accommodating more than 1,200 cars.
