Five Avison Young professionals promoted to principal

Avison Young has promoted five professionals to prinicipal throughout the Tri-State area. They are as follows:

  • Rich Hillgardner has been named Avison Young principal based in the firm’s New York City office.

Hillgardner has been with the company for four years and specializes in the delivery and execution of real estate management services, where he oversees and supports Avison Young’s New York-based portfolio of buildings ranging from office, retail, residential, industrial and educational institutions. Additionally, he serves on the executive committee of Avison Young’s U.S. Real Estate Management Services Affinity Group.

“Rich is a demonstrated industry leader whose efforts substantially aided the growth of our Real Estate Management Services platform in the New York Metro market,” said Mitti Liebersohn, principal and managing director of the firm’s New York office. “As a company that’s powered by the people, Avison Young’s Principals play a significant role in driving value for our clients, colleagues and community. Hillgardner possesses over 20 years of New York real estate experience, where he has been assigned to major accounts such as Citibank, UBS and Salomon Smith Barney and managed real estate portfolios between 3 million and 7 million s/f. Throughout his career, he has continually provided client support in financial management, facilities management and property management functions.

  • Matthew Turse and Timothy Cadigan have been named Avison Young principals based in New Jersey

Turse and Cadigan lead the industrial transaction management group at Avison Young New Jersey with a strong focus in the sales, leasing and consultation of industrial and commercial properties on behalf of tenants and landlords throughout New Jersey. Turse possesses over 25 years of commercial real estate experience, over eight of which have been at Avison Young, while Cadigan has over 18 years of industry experience, with over nine at Avison Young. Both Turse and Cadigan were recipients of Avison Young’s 2021 Circle of Excellence, an annual recognition of the firm’s top producers.  

  • Joseph Lagano II and Daniel Wiener have been named Avison Young principals based in the firm’s Long Island office

Lagano has been with Avison Young since 2016 and possesses nearly 20 years of commercial real estate experience specializing in industrial and commercial brokerage with a special focus on air cargo clients surrounding JFK International Airport. Lagano and his team currently represent 2.1 million s/f of industrial properties both on and off-tarmac for four institutional landlords. Throughout his career, Lagano has represented tenants across a diverse range of industries, including Luxottica Group, DHL, PILOT, FedEx and UPS. He is currently a board member of both the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society and Gateway JFK in addition to the JFK Chamber of Commerce.

Wiener possesses 18 years of commercial real estate experience, seven of which being spent at Avison Young with a strong focus in the representation of tenants, landlords, buyers and sellers for the sale and/or lease of a wide range of asset classes, including industrial, land, office, medical, mixed-use, multifamily and retail. Throughout his career, he has successfully completed an extensive variety of transaction types, ranging from the sale of large parcels of land for ground-up redevelopment to complex adaptive re-use projects. His responsibilities including working closely with accountants, appraisers, architects, attorneys, bankers, contractors, engineers, environmental consultants, property managers and other industry related functions to properly advise his clients on a broad range of services and real estate related challenges. Wiener currently serves as the President of the Commercial Brokers Society of Long Island.
