Fay of L&L Holding: Lucky to have incredible mentors

Name: Sara Fay Title: Senior Director of Marketing Company Name: L&L Holding Company What year did you start your career in commercial real estate: 2008 What recent project or transaction are you most proud of? We just broke ground on 425 Park Avenue, which will be the first new block front office building on Park Avenue in 50 years. It is a project that L&L Holding Company has been working on for 10 years now and I personally have been working on for a over year. It has been incredible to work with the Foster and Partners' team and to be part of a project that will become an iconic NYC building and redefine 21st century office space. What recent honor, achievement or recognition has meant the most to you and why? In February I was promoted to senior director of marketing and it is a moment I am extremely proud of because of the faith that Rob and David have placed in me to oversee all marketing efforts for the organization, some of which includes branding for 425 Park Ave., 390 Madison, 315 Park Ave. South, our highline building; the Ironworks and 150 Fifth Ave. Who or what has been the strongest influence on your career and why? I have been lucky to have incredible mentors at every point in my career. When I started in commercial real estate in property management it was Charles Marr, followed by Andy Levin and Robert Selsam at Boston Properties and currently Rob Lapidus and David Levinson at L&L Holding Company. What is the first thing you do when you arrive in the office in the morning? I get a Dunkin Donuts iced coffee every morning (year round) and create a to do list for the day. What time management strategies do you find to be the most effective for you? I try to respond to emails as soon as I receive them and I keep a running to do list. What is the best advice you have received and who was it from? Simon Wasserberger told me to work on my strengths not my weaknesses; you'll be happier working on your strengths and there will always be someone who is better at your weaknesses. List 3 women that you would like to have drinks / dinner with and where would you go? My mom, Alice Waters and Sara Blakely. I would want to go to 11 Madison Park or NoMad since we just announced that William Guidara and Daniel Humm will be our restaurant operators at 425 Park. What is your favorite quote? "I never lose. I either win or I learn." - Anonymous What did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a writer.
