Extell Development joins Yonkers mayor Spano for ribbon cutting of Hudson Piers

Yonkers, NY Extell Development Company – a full service national real estate developer of residential, commercial and hospitality properties – joined mayor Mike Spano and other city, county and state officials for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Hudson Piers, signifying the official grand opening of the new luxury, multi-phase development. Additionally, Hudson Piers signifies the final and largest piece of the Downtown Waterfront Revitalization in the borough which will provide the general public access to the riverfront.

Extell’s first project in Westchester, Hudson Piers is being developed in three phases. Phase I is now complete and has commenced leasing. Situated on over 20 acres along the waterfront, once complete, development will bring more than 1,100 luxury apartments, exciting retail, waterfront amenities and a new riverfront esplanade along a prime waterfront location with beautiful views of the Hudson River across to the Palisades.

Mayor Mike Spano said, “Hudson Piers is one of the most transformative developments this city has seen and, when fully complete, will be a crowning jewel along our water’s edge. Luxury amenities coupled with an unmatched location highlights the project’s mission to bring more families, businesses, and jobs to Yonkers – fulfilling the city’s truest potential. Welcome to Yonkers!”

“Under mayor Mike Spano, Yonkers has been recognized as the fastest growing big city in New York State, and we are proud to be a part of the incredible redevelopment of that with the grand opening of Hudson Piers, which is bringing a new standard of luxury living to Yonkers. We’ve had a clear vision of what this waterfront site could be, and it’s been incredibly gratifying to see it come to fruition,” said Moshe Botnick, SVP of development for Extell Development Company. “Our homes offer the amenities, quality of construction and service that the Extell brand is known for but for a rent that is 30-50% lower than a comparable NYC building. We couldn’t be happier to be welcoming residents to our first two rental buildings at Hudson Piers.”

Located on the Hudson riverfront along Alexander St., Water Grant St. and Babcock Pl. and 30 minutes from Midtown Manhattan, Hudson Piers was designed by Perkins Eastman Architects with interiors by McGinley Design. Offering a mix of studio to three-bedroom residences.

In true Extell style, an array of both indoor and outdoor amenities complements the property. Indoor amenities in Phase I include a 24-hour main desk concierge, on-site security, indoor parking, state-of-the-art fitness centers, yoga and spin studios, catering kitchen, private screening room, waterfront lounge, business center with conference rooms, indoor playroom, game room, teen room, bicycle storage, and package storage.

Outdoor amenities include two large, landscaped terraces, a saltwater swimming pool accompanied by cabanas and grilling stations, bocce court, putting green, fire pits and hammocks for relaxation, and a dog park. Future phases of the project will add even more amenities including an indoor swimming pool and indoor basketball court. Additionally, childcare and early education franchise The Learning Experience (TLE) recently announced that it has signed a lease at the development and will offer full-service childcare, preschool, and enrichment programs.

Perhaps the ultimate amenity at Hudson Piers is the majestic riverfront promenade that provides a beautiful setting for outdoor enthusiasts. Featuring over one and a half miles of contiguous waterfront access, the Yonkers riverfront gives residents immediate access to open green spaces, as well as pathways for biking and running and activities that include outdoor yoga or a sunset sail along the Hudson. The new Promenade at Hudson Piers will feature a variety of dining and retail options.

Hudson Piers is conveniently located near the Yonkers Metro-North station, which provides a direct 28-minute ride to Grand Central Terminal on the Hudson Line. Additionally, five major highways easily connect the site with the rest of Westchester County, Fairfield County, and New York City. As an additional convenience, shuttle service is provided for residents to and from the Yonkers Metro-North train station.

Hudson Piers builds on the remarkable renaissance underway in Yonkers under the administration of Spano which has seen more than $4 billion in private investment in new projects with over 9,100 multifamily units planned, completed, under construction and approved for development. This coincides with a remarkable expansion of the film industry in Yonkers and the renovation of Empire City Casino which is widely expected to win on a NYS gaming license and bring 5,000+ news jobs to Yonkers.
