Fitness and recreation amenities such as indoor and outdoor swimming pools, putting green, sauna, and full exercise facilities provide opportunities for health and fun. Other amenities include a bistro, sports bar, movie theater, art studio, salon, and barber shop. Among the services available to the residents are a concierge, 24/7 video surveillance and valet parking. The property is landscaped with gardens and a walking path.

“This project is unique and stands out among current senior living facilities on Long Island. We were able to renovate an existing facility which operated as a hotel for more than 30 years and turn it into a modern day independent senior living facility with beautiful finishes and improvements,” said Scott Lozier, a project manager at EW Howell who oversaw the transformation of the Residences at Plainview. “As the demand for senior living facilities rises, more operators will be looking at existing buildings for adaptive reuse, which is a great way to breathe new life into a property and extend its functionality for years to come.”

EW Howell has more than 20 years of experience building quality senior living and assisted living communities around the New York Tri-State region.

Most recently, the company served as general contractor on Whisper Woods at Smithtown and Orchard Estate of Woodbury for Benchmark Senior Living and communities for Sunrise Senior Living in Huntington, N.Y. and Summit, N.J.
