Empire Commercial Construction to complete Center for Disability Rights; teamed with Meehan Architecture and Getsloff Design for design and build-out

Canandaigua, NY Empire Commercial Construction, a retail-specific division of regional general contractor TAYLOR – The Builders, are nearing completion for construction and project management services of a new Center for Disability Rights location in the existing Lakeside Medical Suites development. Empire teamed with Meehan Architecture and Getsloff Design for design and build-out of the new location at 195 Parrish St. Construction is currently underway, with an expected completion by December. “Empire is pleased to establish a relationship with CDR, a nationally recognized advocacy and service provider for people with all types of disabilities,” said Empire president, Jayne Penepent. “Empire is committed to efficiently deliver first-quality retail, medical, and commercial space at the best possible price, and this project will be no different.” CDR provides a Drop-In Recreation Program for adults with disabilities and seniors. The program offers consumer-directed recreation that takes place on-site and in the surrounding community. Skill development is provided through computer training, advocacy, educational learning tools, and volunteer opportunities. In addition to regular programming, individuals may be linked to programs such as: peer-led discussion groups, camping experiences, and the opportunity to travel with advocacy groups. Programs in art, and music are also provided.
