Driscoll joins HOK’s sustainability leadership team

New York, NY Max Driscoll, AIA, LEED AP, has joined HOK’s sustainability leadership team as a regional leader. He brings two decades of experience in sustainable design, planning and implementation.

“Max has a wide range of design experience in both the public and private sector,” said Anica Landreneau, assoc. AIA, LEED AP, WELL AP, director of sustainable design at HOK. “His expertise optimizing sustainability at the portfolio scale as well as with complex building projects such as the redevelopment of the World Trade Center will be of great value to our clients.”

Driscoll spent the past three years as assistant director in the Campus Master Planning and Sustainability group at Purdue University developing a sustainability master plan and formal LEED policy. 

He also instigated the Indiana Campus Collaboration, which focused on climate resilience planning among the major state universities. In his role, Driscoll coordinated sustainable design for nine new design and construction projects (1.5 million s/f and oversaw the existing portfolio (20 million s/f).

Before that, Driscoll was director of sustainability at a NYC architectural firm, where he led sustainable design guidelines for World Trade Center projects, a sustainability master plan for Novartis Pharmaceutical’s New Jersey campus, sustainable infrastructure guidelines for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and sustainable design for several architectural projects. He also worked as a staff environmental scientist for a firm in New York, where he performed air emissions modeling, analysis and reporting, stormwater and wastewater analysis, environmental due diligence reporting, and environmental permitting.

A registered architect, Driscoll holds a Bachelor of Architecture from The City College of New York as well as a Bachelor’s degree from Hunter College in Energy and Environmental Policy.
