Downtown Albany BID presents new business development seminar series

Georgette Steffens, executive director of the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (Albany BID), and the Downtown Albany BID board are happy to unveil their new Business Development Seminar Series. The series, which is sponsored through a donation from KeyBank, offers four seminars that will be free of charge to businesses located in the Downtown Albany BID District. The topical seminars will cover media training, succession planning, legal resources for small business, and small venture finance. The seminars will include presentations from Gramercy Communications, KeyBank and The Hartford, The Legal Project, and the New York Business Development Corporation. "We are really happy to be able to provide this series to our stakeholders," said Steffens. "Programs such as these are an added value to a downtown Albany location allowing companies to benefit from the expertise of other leaders in their community." The seminar series is exclusively offered to companies located within the Downtown Albany BID boundary. "We believe that supporting small business is crucial to the wellbeing of downtown Albany," said Jeffrey Stone, president of Key's Capital Region operations. "Key is proud to support the community through this series." KeyBank has been an ongoing supporter of BID events and programs. The first event will train business leaders on how to effectively build successful media relations and will be presented by Gramercy Communications. A complete schedule can be found at downtownalbany.org. For information and resources on opening a business location in Downtown Albany, visit 'Doing Business Downtown' at DowntownAlbany.org.
