DelDuca, Call and Ling hired by First Nationwide

First Nationwide Title Agency has hired three attorneys bringing its legal team total to 13. The new attorneys include: Erika Kuver DelDuca as VP, senior underwriting counsel; David Call as SVP and senior underwriting counsel-energy; and Margaret Ling as senior counsel and VP. "Rapid growth, expansion and bringing aboard a powerful team of attorneys to expedite the most complicated and challenging of title searches, has been a strategic plan since our inception in August 2012," said Steven Napolitano, president of First Nationwide. "We are firmly established in two strategic locations, Midtown Manhattan and Uniondale, Long Island, we have a burgeoning office in Austin, TX, and we have some of the most talented underwriters in the business as well as arguably the largest, most experienced legal team in New York, equipped to efficiently and thoroughly clear title for the most sophisticated of property transactions and re-financings." Erika Kuver DelDuca, who joins as VP, senior underwriting counsel, oversees underwriting for both New York and national commercial real estate transactions, a role that she previously performed as VP and senior counsel at Fidelity National Title Insurance Co. DelDuca's experience includes insuring complex ownership and lending structures including but not limited to transactions involving real estate investment trusts, bond defeasances, Chapter 11 sales, DIP f, local and state governments, IDA projects, construction loans, FERC regulated projects, development rights and transfers, not for profit entities, and ground leases. She began her legal career as an attorney with the New York-based law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, where she represented lenders and borrowers on a wide range of ground breaking real estate development projects and leveraged portfolio loans. While there, Ms. DelDuca's primary focus was in the energy and project finance sector where her experience includes representing lenders in the negotiation and structuring of innovative and industry-leading agreements with private and public entities including the NY Metro Transit Authority, Metro North and Long Island Railroads, Consolidated Edison, and the NJ Department of Environmental Protection to create projects to solve the Tri-State area's continuing and growing energy demands. She also volunteered her services for several not-for-profit organizations in Manhattan including the Regional Plan Association of New York, the Urban Justice Center and Volunteer Services for the Elderly. She received her J.D. from Fordham Law School, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University's Barnard College where she double majored in History and Political Science. Ms. DelDuca also holds two federal patents for an infant teething device, is a third degree black belt in Ryu-Renshi Dan Karate and a First Degree black belt in Goshindo Jujitsu. David G. Call joins as Senior Vice President and Senior Underwritng Counsel-Energy. His responsibilities at FNTA include providing underwriting for National energy transactions and client development. Mr. Call has over two decades of legal and title industry experience. He has worked at Stewart Title and Chicago Title Insurance Company as well as several title agencies in the New York metro area. He has provided underwriting and advice on transactions ranging from a small condo closing to a multi-billion dollar merger. His experience covers all asset classes and ownership structures. His legal experience includes positions with international law firms King & Spalding and Paul Hastings LLP. He acted as lead counsel or real estate counsel on large project transactions involving several NFL stadium developments; military housing privatizations; renewable and fossil fuel energy developments; Islamic Financing transactions; and commercial real estate transactions. He received his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his LL.M in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. He received his BA from The University of Connecticut. Margaret T. Ling, the third addition, is an attorney with more than 20 years of experience in the title industry for agencies as well as major underwriters. As Senior Counsel and Vice President, her responsibilities include reading, clearance, underwriting and coordinating and overseeing the growing residential title department at First Nationwide Title. Margaret is also a Certified CLE Presenter and will be assisting the Company with their future CLE Seminars. She has held positions of Senior Underwriting Counsel with multiple agencies, including Skyline TRG Title Agency; Summit Associates, LLC; and Liberty Title Agency LLC, and she has served as Legal Counsel with Couch Braunsdorf Insurance Group; Landstar Title Agency, Inc; Intracoastal Abstract Co., Inc., and Titleserv, Inc. In those positions, she was responsible for all legal title underwriting, reading, and clearing and processing all title files for closing. She also held positions with such prestigious New York Title Insurance Underwriters as Stewart Title Insurance Company, Ticor Title Insurance Company and The Fidelity Title Group. Earlier in her career, she clerked for Chief Judge Constance Baker Motley of the US District Court, Southern District of New York. Among her many professional memberships are: Board of Director and co-chair of the real estate committee for the Asian American Bar Association of New York; co-chair of the Asian Practice Committee for the New York County Lawyer's Association; member of the Real Property Committee and the Diversity Committee for the New York State Bar Association; the Queens Asian Bar Association; the Korean Lawyers Association of Greater New York and the Asian Pacific American Lawyer's Association of New Jersey. She also is a member numerous professional associations including: the Asian Real Estate Association of America; the New York Chinese Banker's Association, and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. She received her JD from New York Law School and her undergraduate degree from Columbia University's Barnard College. Margaret is an avid golfer and has been for the past six years the Pro Am Chairman for the PGA Barclays Fed Ex Cup Golf Tournament.
